Since its creation in 1975, this private hatchery of marine fish - the oldest in the Mediterranean - has developed a strategy of research, innovation and diversification. This strategy made it a pioneer, expert and leader in marine biotechnology. Relying since 2003 on its parent company, the farmhouse Marine de Douhet, the first French producer of fry and among Europe's largest hatcheries, Les Poisson du Soleil has launched a European development strategy. Anchored in the Mediterranean arc, at the southern Europe carrefour between Spain and Italy (exporting also to North Africa and the Middle East), the hatchery offers first-order operating conditions, based on respect of a high level quality and the innovation research throughout the production chain. More than 15 million wolf fry, Gilt-head bream, meagre, gambas, oysters and mussels are produced there each year. All animals are approved "Charte Qualité Aquaculture de France" under the control of the independent certifying body "Veritas France".
