Béziers' landmark, the Cathedral of Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Celse, stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the city. The Southern Gothic edifice stands on the remains of a Roman temple and a Romanesque church destroyed during the Crusade of 1209. Impressively spacious, the building features 14th-century frescoes and a splendid 17th-century organ case. Don't miss: every evening in summer, a splendid sound and light show is held inside.
