A sarcophagus of Piquetalen which is in the Louvre museum, coming from the old church of Sainte-Eulalie du Pouget.
While visitors to the Louvre Museum have had the opportunity to observe this 6th century relic, they share this pleasure with many inhabitants of Castelnau-de-Guers. The village has a reproduction, visible on the first floor of the town hall (council room). The sarcophagus would have been discovered on the estate of Piquetalen, at the exit of the village according to the oral tradition. It comes, in fact, from the old church Sainte-Eulalie du Pouget and was bought by François Curée who brought it back to Castelnau. The Louvre museum bought it in 1923. At its side, collections of minerals, fossils and archaeological material discovered in the lower Hérault valley are presented.
