RANDONNÉE L'AQUEDUC DE CASTRIES
Go there and contact
This quiet walk (distance: 8 km - duration: 2h30 - difficulty: easy - difference in height: 41 m) runs partly along the Aqueduct of Castries. The route skims the mysterious Capelette (small chapel) and crosses the Cadoule at the Tourilles bridge to reach the ruins of a Templar commandery at Bannières. Then we discover Castries and its medieval heart, its old covered market, its Coste square sheltered by the remains of the Romanesque church, the arches of the oil mill, the imposing church, and above all the castle and its park, a small Versailles of Languedoc. Finally, after the Colombier quarry, a listed site used for the construction of monuments, the path leads to the Mas de Fondespierre.
