ALLEGRIA
Founded in 2008, the Allegria ("joy" in Occitan) estate is nestled on the first hills of the Haut Languedoc, at the foot of the Baumes volcano and its basaltic flow. It was born from the friendship between the families of Aboville and La Mota: on the one hand a family of enthusiasts, and on the other Roberto de la Mota, a famous Argentinean oenologist, notably creator of Cheval des Andes and Bodega Mendel. On their nine hectares of vines, they have a pretty variety of grape varieties ranging from Syrah to Mourvèdre, including Carignan, Cinsault and, for the white, Roussanne and Marsanne. Since its creation, the vineyard has practiced organic farming, and the old vines are harvested by hand.
