FOREST OF FIGHTING WRITERS
A 100-hectare forest, created by the association of fighting writers in the 1930s, located in Combes
The Writers' Forest is a singular haven, born under the impulse of the association of the fighting writers in the thirties in order to honour the memory of the writers who died during the First World War. Expanded twice, the forest covers nearly 100 hectares. The steep staircase leads up to the plateau where there is a monument commemorating the sacrifice of 560 writers. Populated with cedars, pines, chestnut trees, it offers beautiful views of the Caroux.
