PORTE D'AGDE
A door with a loophole, a typical opening in the Middle Ages that allowed for observation and the firing of projectiles.
The village of Florensac was fortified in medieval times. It was surrounded by ditches and an enclosure with four gates: the Sainte-Suzanne gate, the Saint-Thibéry gate, the New gate and the Agde gate. This last one, located at the entrance of the Polka square, was surmounted by the watchman's house. A "meurtrière", a typical opening of the Middle Ages which allowed both the observation and the sending of projectiles, was recently discovered there.
