THE GREAT PYRAMID
An impressive pyramid of curves and height, the most imposing structure in the La Grande Motte resort.
Impressive in its curves and height, it is the station's most imposing structure, so much so that it has become its emblem. Designed by Jean Balladur in 1974, this fascinating building is actually much more complex than it first appears. First of all, its shape: a curved "Y", housing a hotel and apartments, represents the "link" between the masculine (the high pyramids of the city center) and feminine (the sunset district with its rounded pyramids) parts. The city's architecture was inspired by the Pic Saint-Loup.
