A trail to discover the life and work of the craftsmen who developed their skills, thanks to explanatory panels.
One kilometre long, the "Sentier des Meulières", located on the heights of the village of La Livinière, allows you to discover the life and work of the craftsmen who have developed a unique know-how, through a dozen explanatory panels. The panorama offers magnificent views of the Montagne Noire and the Minervois plain, all the way to the Pyrenees! Millions of stones lie on almost 9 hectares of land, in an almost lunar landscape. Now piled up, these stones have been carefully arranged and shaped for more than a thousand years by master millers, who turned the causse upside down, in order to extract from the depths a singular rock, ideal for the manufacture of millstones and the grinding of cereals. While walking along this trail, the visitor will follow the steps of this long quest to create the best bread in the world.
