THE SOURCES
Calcium-sodium bicarbonate and ferruginous springs, located in a geological fault at Lamalou-les-Bains.
Some fifteen springs lie along the geological fault that crosses the valley. They are of the bicarbonate, calcic and sodic type, ferruginous, rich in magnesium and potassium, and contain carbon dioxide. Secondary ferro-arsenic mineralization is also present. Some are used in thermal baths, others flow freely. Several of them have therapeutic virtues: the Usclade spring for hepato-digestive disorders, the Capus spring for anemia and the Bourgès spring has digestive and diuretic properties.
