HOFER-BURY MUSEUM
It is the opportunity to make a nice stroll outside the city, just 6 km from Montpellier and discover the tree park and the beautiful castle of the village of Lavérune. Located on the first floor of the castle, the museum of modern and contemporary art Hofer-Bury, whose name comes just from the art lover who donated to the commune of its private collection, proposes six exhibition halls featuring regional painters and sculptors and paintings from elsewhere such as the Chinese painter Wang-Wei Xi In. The association «Les Amis du Musée Hofer-Bury», which provides the museum's animated animation, provides a rotation of 1,300 works, as well as temporary exhibitions involving artists recognized for young talent. Note that the castle which serves as the backbone of these exhibitions is the former residence of the bishops of Montpellier, and dates from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
