The Templars and the Benedictines of Aniane Abbey shared the lordship of the village at the end of the 12th century. Within the castrum, the Knights Templar owned an imposing residence that has since disappeared. At the beginning of the 13th century, they integrated the gate of the "claster" that protected the Saint-Benoît priory into the fortified enclosure of the village. From this arrangement, the gate of the Fountain is still visible.
