NICOLE BARONDEAU
The charming town of Lodève is home to the studio of renowned glass artist Nicole Barondeau. Born in Algeria in 1951, she moved to France in 1962 and adopted the Languedoc region as her home in 1977. Influenced by Mediterranean culture, she draws her inspiration from the sea, a theme that never ceases to fascinate her. After taking drawing and painting courses, she graduated from the Montpellier School of Fine Arts in 1986. Since then, she has devoted herself to working with glass, exploring different techniques to create unique aesthetic and plastic works. Her artistic commitment has led to numerous exhibitions in France and abroad. Committed to the transmission of know-how, she has welcomed many trainees to her studio. Recently, she traveled to Latin America, where she found a resonance with her favorite themes. Back in Sète, she continues to draw inspiration from the region's maritime ambience to create new works, notably on the Etang de Thau and its oyster-farming activity.
