It is the first cooperative cellar built in France, founded in 1901, and bringing together the 128 winegrowers of Maraussan (which officially counts 280). Their motto, inscribed on the façade of the building: "Tous pour un, un pour tous" (All for one, one for all). Jean Jaurès, then deputy of the Tarn and president of the French Socialist Party, came in person to visit this cellar in 1905. In 1995, the "Vignerons libres" became the "Vignerons du Pays d'Ensérune" with the adhesion of eleven villages on a vineyard of more than 3,500 hectares: Cazouls-lès-Béziers, Maureilhan, Cazedarnes, Montady, Capestang, Colombiers, Poilhes, Nissan-lez-Ensérune, Lespignan, Puisserguier. 800 families of owner-harvesters invite you to discover their terroirs: IGP oc, IGP coteaux-d'ensérune, AOP saint-chinian or AOP coteaux-du-languedoc. To meet the demand, the winegrowers of the Pays d'Ensérune have chosen to extend their range to include wines from the Deep South, from Gascony to the Côtes-du-Rhône and Provence. A gourmet visit to be made, reinforced by wine tourism activities, wine tasting initiations, evening events with music and food trucks, temporary exhibitions on wine and reception of the works of local artists with in particular a street-art project.
