Church built on the site of a small Romanesque church and a Gothic church.

Dating from the ^17th century, this church was built on the site of a small ^11th-centuryRomanesque church and a ^13th-century Gothic church. One of the jewels in the church's crown is the high altar, featuring a beautiful variety of marbles. It came to Marseillan from Valmagne Abbey during the French Revolution. Recently restored, it is now a listed historic monument. In 1998, the stained glass windows were refurbished by an Italian master glassworker.

Visited in march 2024

L'église en soit est belle, le plaisir de l'autel de Ste Philomène. Mais très déçue par le manque de respect de l'équipe des dames particulièrement bruyantes parlant fort comme dans un hall de gare. Quand je leur ai gentiment demandé d'être plus discrètes car je priais, on m'a répondu que c'était lundi matin, jour de ménage et que c'était "comme ça". Bien triste.
