The Marseillan water tower is a true work of art in the open air
In 2006, Alain Liedts, president of the Liedts-Meesen Foundation, had a brilliant idea: to transform the Marseillan water tower into a work of art directly inspired by one of the local riches, the oyster. With the agreement of the town and the Syndicat du Bas Languedoc, he called upon the architect designer Marnix Verstraeten, who decorated the water tower with 200,000 pearly oyster shells. The result: a real work of art in the open air!
