GOLD COUNTRY AGGLOMERATION
The creation of the Pays de l'Or urban community is the result of several decades of local agreements. As early as 1971, the multi-purpose intermunicipal union (SIVOM) was involved in personal services. In 1992, its powers of action were extended and many projects were launched. In 2011, these two entities merged under a single banner. By decree, on 2 September 2011, it became an urban community. Today the agglomeration of the Pays de l'Or has 8 municipalities: Candillargues, La Grande Motte, Lansargues, Mudaison, Mauguio, Palavas-les-Flots, Saint-Aunès and Valergue.
