Torn rock gorges where water rushes down the gneiss and creates waterfalls, the feminine forms of the Caroux mountain to see

This listed natural site, located in the heart of the Caroux mountain range, is without doubt one of the must-see destinations when visiting the Hérault hinterland. As soon as you set off along the discovery trail, the tone is set: in a setting of torn rock, water cascades down the gneiss, forming a multitude of waterfalls. As you go, contemplate the hollows and curves of the Caroux mountain. Legend has it that these reliefs are those of Cebenna, daughter of the Titans, who was condemned by Zeus to seek love but never found it.

Très belle randonnée sauvage de 11km environ A/R, verdoyante avec le chant de l'eau. Prévoir bouteille d'eau , chapeau et bonnes chaussures de marche. Sentier praticable mais dénivelé environ 700 mètres. Pousser jusqu'en haut au petit hameau très pittoresque

Fantastische wandeling, niet te steil en veel te zien. Lekker zwemmen of uitrusten in één van de vele poeltjes. Veel plekken om te picknicken. Parkeren in de schaduw als je tijdig verachijnt, campers welkom, 10 euro per nacht. (mei 2024) normaal parkeren 3,50. Leuk eet/ drinktentje bij het parkeerterrein. Na 5 km wandelen is er ook een eet/ drinktentje, neem cash geld mee! Cash is belangrijk, het houdt de kleine ondernemer gezond. Ik raad aan er minimaal twee uren heen te gaan, wij zijn vier uren gebleven, gezellig vermaak in de natuur!

Simpele wandeling voor geoefende wandelaars over verhard pad door deze kloof vol met bruisend water en mooie watervallen, stuk pittiger door de constante lichte stijging voor minder geoefende wandelaars zoals wij, maar toch meer dan de moeite waard.
