THE CASTLE OF THE MARQUIS DE MONTFERRIER
Go there and contact
The castle is a feudal building dating back to the tenth century, the vaults of which are always apparent. He dominated the slope of the hill on which three floors of large terraces were spread, with French gardens, to a large park crossing Le Lez. He was looted in the Revolution and partly destroyed. In 1850, what was left of the castle was returned to the commune, and for a century part of the building is reconstituted stone stone after stone. The town hall occupies a wing, and its cellars and kitchens have been rehabilitated to host exhibitions. Its terraces, from where the view is impregnable, are pleasant walks and the scene of cultural events.
