LES CAVES DU COURREAU
François left the chic and the hustle of the Madeleine district in Paris for the quietness and the humour of rue du Faubourg-du-Courreau in Montpellier. In a neighbourhood and casual bistro spirit, he prepares us a cuisine of the day, half way between the Parisian habits and the Mediterranean flavours. On the menu: minestrone with pistou, gizzards salad, herring fillet with warm apples; chicken cream, andouillette from Troyes, fillet or thinly-sliced duck breast. And to finish the meal: cheese platter, caramel cream, floating island, chocolate mousse, ice-cream or white cheese. Here, the popular and fully homemade cuisine is cheap (the quality/price ratio is excellent), the welcome and the service are very pleasant! We also love the popular atmosphere of the neighbourhood, with its regulars and some famous sacred characters of the neighbourhood. What might destabilize prudish or pessimist people, but fans of popular canteens in the best sense of the word should be delighted. Simple, authentic, good and at challenging prices. Between southern cheeky humour and film of Audiard, you enjoy good food as a plus.
