"Keeping the essential in everything", these are the words of the manager of this small, not expensive and quiet hotel in the center of Montpellier. Very accessible, you will benefit from all the necessary comfort during your stay and this, with an obvious and natural simplicity. The staff, very attentive and smiling, is very pleasant and always there to help. They will give you the best information on the news of the region which you can already consult on their Facebook page which is updated daily, which will give you a lot of very nice information about the region, seasonal events, curiosities and good tips. The building, though steeped in history, does not overlook today's comfort. Thus the elevator, air conditioning, wifi, etc. will allow you to enjoy the city without inconvenience. The sober and elegant rooms are so clean and perfectly blend the modern with the old. The fully renewed breakfast room is bright and pleasant. A sure value in the heart of Montpellier.

Certes, le prix des chambres n'est pas excessif mais les conditions d'accueil décentes minimales ne sont pas au rendez vous : odeur d'égout nauséabonde, cheveux sur les draps, moisissures dans la douche, chasse d'eau qui fuit, aucune insonorisation, tâches sur les tapisseries ...
Pour autant, l'emplacement est idéal, proche des lignes de Tram, en plein centre ville et le personnel est adorable.
Bien pour dépanner une nuit mais à éviter pour un séjour moyen ou long.

Great location, very close to Montpellier St Roch station and to the old quarter of the city. Staff were very friendly & helpful and the room was clean and acceptable for the price. We had a great time during our 3 night stay and would come back again. Would recommend Hotel de la Comedie for a short stay.

I want to leave and find somewhere else to stay was my first impression upon seeing the room I was to sleep in. But I thought I should man up and save myself hassle and money so stuck it out. The room was depressing l can't think of anything positive to say about it. But on first glance the room next door looked ok, so maybe some rooms are alright. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there if they care about their surroundings. But if you're not fussed about that the positives are the location and people that work there.
