Former church that became rock temple in the 1980s, Rockstore is a monument of Montpellier nightlife, with a red Cadillac embedded in the façade as a distinctive feature. In 2013, bought by the town hall, it was closed for 9 months of renovation - to the dismay of night owls. On the programme: insulation work and compliance. Over the years, French and international stars have trodden its stage - in all musical genres: M, NTM, Les Sheriffs, Brigitte Fontaine, Franck Black, Lenny Kravitz, Poppa Chubby, Sébastien Tellier, The Kills... More than a concert hall, the place is also a disco on two levels, with a capacity of 850 people and very central since near La Comédie - often free entrance - and the meeting point of the revelers at the closure of the bars. The music is rock and electro there according to the evenings but never commercial. A legend in the French rock world.

Rock unmissable box in the centre of Montpellier, with steps from Montpellier train station, there are often very good music and the atmosphere of the room and much better than everywhere in the city, I recommend Rockstore!
Bad sonority of the bottom mainly rock (for concerts or box too aigues mortes). At the summit, once a month one evening funk/bus if not the techno. the only free place open after the bars on the weekend... to say as much that there are some bus mouths but rarely overflow. However the programme concerts is varied and you will find pearls there sometimes.
I love this concert hall, as much for the decor that for the quality of the sound. On the other hand I find tickets are quite expensive even for artists little-known... and it is to get better here by tram because it is in the city centre.
