In October 2009, the European University Pole became the Research and Higher Education Pole of the University of Montpellier Sud de France (UMSF.). Some activities of the former STINKS have been taken up by the PRES, including the reception of researchers and international students (aid for administrative formalities, residence cards, completion of the Eurostars file, assistance in the search for a housing, etc.). The PRES, along the lines of the STINKS, must also play an important role in promoting research and higher education, and act to facilitate the professional integration of young graduates.
