The Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régionale de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is a public institution of initial specialized arts teaching, whose vocation is to learn the practices of music, dance and drama. By offering a teaching of music, choreographic and dramatic art of excellence, accessible to all throughout the territory, it participates in this way in the construction of the child's personality, its development and personal development (memory, concentration, taste of effort, curiosity, imagination, artistic sense, critical meaning and judgement, organizational capacity, etc.) as a component for schools located in the territory and for external audiences, a resource for amateur practices.
Its role is also to identify and train the professional artists of tomorrow by taking them at the gates of higher education and trade. Several courses are proposed, from awakening to the preparatory cycle, in over 50 disciplines. The lessons are distributed at three sites in the centre of Montpellier (Lisbon, Founded, Archdiocese) and on two external sites (Castries & Cournonterral). The Conservatory is also a place of exchange, dissemination and creation. Students have access to many cultural events, and enjoy master classes by the greatest educators of today.
