Convent built in 1641 to educate girls and care for the sick, now a national choreographic center.
Built in 1641 by architect Jean Bonnassier, the convent was dedicated to the education of girls and the care of the sick and needy. During the French Revolution, it was transformed into a prison, before becoming a barracks. Its functions changed during the German occupation, when the Gestapo used it as an interrogation center. Aging, the monument was bought by the city in 1980 to house the Centre chorégraphique national and Montpellier Danse, becoming "l'Agora", an international city of dance and a recognized cultural space.
