SAINT-CLÉMENT AQUEDUCT
Aqueduct Saint-Clement of 14 km, housing a water tower with an impressive view of the city, the sea and its surroundings
Built in the 18th century to supply the city with water, this structure stretches over 14 km from the source in the commune of Saint-Clément-de-Rivière, to the north of the city, to the water tower, designed by Jean-Antoine Giral, at the end of the Peyrou promenade. Inspired by the Pont du Gard, the construction crosses the city of Hérault, the access to the aqueduct being closed for security reasons. Its arrival at the water tower offers an impressive panorama of the city, the sea and its surroundings. A market takes place at its feet on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
