Museum presenting rich collections of ancient and medieval sculptures, statues and monumental ensembles in Montpellier.

Housed in the Paul Valéry University since 1966, this museum is home to over 300 pieces. Ancient and medieval sculptures, statuary and monumental ensembles are all on display. Assembled in the 1880s, the antique sculptures stand alongside medieval sculptures purchased in 1904. The museum, attached to the Faculty of Arts, was intended, like so many others in Europe at the time, to support and illustrate the teaching of art history. It regularly organizes exhibitions and events open to the public.

Opening time and information on CASTING MUSEUM

Open Tuesday to Friday, 12pm to 5pm. Guided tour €5, otherwise €3. Guided tour. The Musée des Moulages will close its doors to the public at 5pm on Friday May 31. Visits by reservation remain possible until Friday June 28. Reopening as usual on Tuesday, September 03.

Un très beau musée dont la journée portes ouvertes fut une occasion en or de découvrir les merveilles qui s'y trouvent. J'y retournerai avec plaisir !

Musée avec une belle scénographie sur le campus de l'université Paul Valery. Le lieu est agréable, lumineux et il est agréable de déambuler dans ses allées.
