The Jardin des Plantes is located close to the University of Medicine, with which it has formed a partnership. This green space was created in 1593 at the request of Henri IV, who commissioned Pierre Richer de Belleval, a botany and anatomy teacher, to create a royal garden. Over the centuries, it has developed and diversified, hosting tropical greenhouses, an orangery, an English garden and many other varieties. Today, it is a mosaic of plants from all origins.
