ARM-IN-IRON STREET
Montpellier is full of steep alleys, but there is one very special one: the rue du Bras-de-Fer. This passage owes its strange name to an old street sign that can still be seen today. If it differs from the neighbouring alleys, it is because you can admire a 14th century arch connecting the buildings on either side of the street. Beautifully coloured steps allow you to approach it from the best angle. If you continue towards the Grand-Rue, the Rue Voltaire on the right - in the direction of Saint-Roch - has a similar arch.
