La Quintessence is one of the last herbalists in the region. This rare shop which was created in the early 1970s, has preserved its authenticity over the decades. Founded by Suzanne Robert, an herbalist who graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in Paris, it was taken over in 1979 by the pharmacist Geneviève Gaillard. She then named the place La Quintessence and, thanks to her passionate and dynamic attitude, she helps the shop to prosper. Finally taken over in 2007 by Jean Rey and his daughter Geraldine, the shop is still prosperous. Medicinal plants, oils and accessories still attract followers, curious to discover the latest items on offer.
