CastelBarry's unspoilt winegrowing landscape, a nationally and internationally recognized treasure.
Take the time to contemplate this exceptional heritage, this vineyard which is largely certified "Terra Vitis", as well as "Agriculture Biologique". Reflecting the commitment and deep respect of the men of CastelBarry for the preservation of the environment, this winegrowing landscape can be explored, discovered and observed. Since 1950, the artisanal cooperative cellar has been uniting the village's wine production to produce wines of national and international renown. 130 men and women have been working together for over half a century to preserve the landscape and develop an economic activity. On the way, you will see the olive groves on the terraces bordering the Montpeyroux vineyards. They shape the landscape and bring additional resources to the winegrowers. The siesta under their foliage is divine! The terroir of Montpeyroux is considered as a great terroir in the Languedoc, one of the most beautiful and most famous. Rich in a diversity of soils, a presence of water, a mild Mediterranean climate for the cultivation of the vine, and a preserved wilderness, Montpeyroux has produced over the years great wines of reference.
To see : the vineyard of CastelBarry, remarkable olive groves and olive trees, the hamlet of Barry, the castellas, a fortified complex of the 13th century, classified site since 1943, partially restored in 2010. Beautiful view from the top of Mount Redon.
