Museum to discover the ancestral history of Murviel-lès-Montpellier, offering vestiges of the Neolithic to the Gallo-Roman period.
This museum in Murviel-les-Montpellier is an invitation to discover the ancestral history of the area. In about ten showcases, it presents vestiges from the Neolithic to the Gallo-Roman period. These come from archaeological excavations carried out in the commune since 1836 on the ancient site of Castellas. The objects on display (amphoras, sculptures, etc.) bear witness to the occupation of the town during these distant eras and allow us to imagine part of the daily life of the inhabitants of the region during these periods.
