SAINTE-MARIE-MADELEINE CHURCH
Church mentioned in 1173 in the confirmation of the episcopal goods by Louis VII in Nézignan-l'Evêque
Owned by the bishops of Agde, the existence of this church is mentioned in 1173 in the confirmation of episcopal property by Louis VII. It underwent major alterations in the 14th, 15th and 18th centuries. The capitals of the nave columns are decorated, and the basket is adorned with a few pine cones. The door and its sculpture, like the balustered gallery, are attributed to the 17th century. The high altar and marble pulpit date from the 18th century. A must-see!
