SAINT-SATURNIN CHURCH
This church is absolutely representative of the Southern Gothic art of Languedoc.
This church, mentioned in a papal bull in 1099, depended on the Benedictine monastery of Psalmody. The main construction, dating from the 14th century, includes the polygonal chevet, the nave and the south portal. The bell tower, added in the 17th century, may have replaced an earlier side chapel. The other chapels, the sacristy and other modifications are more recent, such as the 14th century wall paintings. Its impressive organ is classified as a historical monument. It now houses a museum of sacred art, open to visitors free of charge.
