NOTRE DAME DE ROUBIGNAC
The first sanctuary had to be built under the wisigothic domination, its reconstruction is assured in the tenth century. The building that we observe today is the twelfth century, it is fully arched. In the nineteenth century, the church was restored and returned to the cult of Mary, celebrated on September 8. It is classified as a historic monument in 1954. The south gate is overcome by a remarkable sculpted tympan with an orant on either side of a cross. The six-fold stubbornness falls on ornamental or historical capitals. The rectangular bell tower, with four openings, was enhanced in the seventeenth century. Following this transformation, the gurgles became decorative.
