PÉLARDON DE PÉGAIROLLES
Rens and Bernard Chabrier won with their AOP (protected designation of origin) pélardon no less than fifteen medals at the Sud de France regional competition, among 220 cheeses from the former Languedoc-Roussillon. A great recognition for these breeders who produce 65 000 to 70 000 pelardons each year, thanks to their herd of 80 Alpine and Saane goats. The majority of their pélardons, these very small cheeses made from raw goat's milk from the Languedoc region, are sold directly and in short circuits in shops in Lodève, Caylar and on the region's markets.
