HÔTEL D'ALFONCE
Elegant hotel that can be rented as a guest house with rooms, living room and kitchen
If history has retained the name "d'Hôtel d'Alfonce", the house is also nicknamed "the former theatre of Molière". And with good reason: Molière played there with his troupe between 1650 and 1655. It is also said that the premiere of Le Médecin Volant (The Flying Doctor ) was given there on November 9, 1655 when the hotel was inhabited by the Prince de Conti. Finally, it was Raymond d'Alfonse, Baron de Clairac et d'Entraygues, Provost of Guyenne, who became owner in 1658, who gave his name to the hotel. Nowadays, this jewel of Pézenas opens its doors and can be rented as a gîte. Behind its simple porch, accessible from the rue Conti, you will discover four buildings spread around two courtyards and a garden. The features and decorum of the hundred-year-old building are still standing, preserved by several passionate and protective owners, as well as an inscription on the Historical Monuments. Inside, the gîte of the mansion house has a surface area of 180 m² (1,860 sq ft) comprising a lounge, a kitchen, two double bedrooms and one bedroom with twin beds. Captivating, elegant and yet warm, the building invites you to daydream, a dream that comes at a price.
