L'HÔTEL DE PEYRAT
Former mansion, now home to the Pézenas Tourist Office.
Today the residence of the Tourist Office, this former mansion was built against the medieval ramparts of the city. Only the tower of Peyrat, built in the 13th century, remains. Its first known owner was Jehan de Robert (mentioned in 1518), in the 18th century it was dismembered for the benefit of the prisons and the court of justice of the city. During the restoration work, the presence of bays from the end of the 15th century, remarkable painted ceilings from the 16th century and a painted decoration in grisaille from the 17th century was noticed.
