HISTORICAL THEATER OF PÉZENAS
A theater with decorative themes, part of the Piscénois heritage, and a fine example of France's rich theatrical heritage.
Located in the former chapelle des Pénitents noirs, this theater is an excellent example of the rich French theatrical heritage of the late 19th century. The vaulted ceiling of the former church has been decorated with a sky background and faux draperies, while other decorations evoke traditional theatrical or musical attributes (instruments, masks, etc.). The value of this monument is such that it is included in the "Route de France" list of the country's most beautiful theaters.
