DOMAINE DE LA PROSE
Domaine de la Prose located on a hill above the Vignogoul abbey plays with the colours of nature, the blue for the sea that is on the horizon and a whole range for the scrubland that surrounds the Domaine. The wines of this Saint-Georges were renowned in the 18th century: classified as grands Bourgognes, they have already been exported to Russia and the United States. The Mortillet familly came to bring their expertise on seventeen hectares of vines facing the sea. Their great vintage, to be enjoyed in its very early age, has all the characteristics of a long-keeping wine, mixing intensity of colors and flavours of spices and stewed fruits. Following his grandfather, who was illustrated in 1854 by developing the dry sulphuring method to fight against the ravages of the oïdium, Bertrand was inspired by the exceptional situation of the plots and chose for several years a culture without pesticides or chemical products. The estate has been certified organic since 2004.
