Vine, pomegranate and olive trees: a winning trio for Pierre Colin! This gentleman is both a winegrower - he produces on 15 ha of vines in AOC Picpoul de Pinet - and a producer of pomegranate juice - he has 150 Mollar de Elche pomegranate trees - not to mention his 300 olive trees. It is in 2011, when there are few opportunities to acquire vines in the Picpoul de Pinet vineyard, that Pierre is thinking of diversifying. It will be pomegranate juice, produced without additives and naturally sweet and renowned for its therapeutic virtues! Harvesting, pressing, pasteurization: he controls the entire production chain for the pomegranate. This crop is well adapted to the agro-climatic conditions of the Mediterranean region. Its historical presence in the Hérault region and in Occitania goes back several centuries but had been somewhat lost for several decades.
