FÊTE LOCALE - PORTIRAGNES
Portiragnes comes alive in the heart of August to celebrate its local festival. On this occasion, the town's festivities committee and the Club Taurin join forces to concoct traditional shows and festive entertainment for an often large audience. These days revolve around the Avenue Jean Moulin but also in the Portiragnes-Plage bullring and on the Canal du Midi, especially for the fireworks. The programme includes concerts and balls, as well as abrivado and Camargue races. These two bullfighting events allow summer visitors to discover some elements of the identity of Languedoc in a good mood. Moreover, they will attend these events in the company of Biou, the town's horned totemic animal.
