CHÂTEAU MONTLAUR
Castle full of history with the mention of a defensive tower in 990, a fresco dating from the Renaissance in the chapel
The castle takes its name from the Montlaur family who took possession of the seigneury in 1210. It still stands proudly on the church square. The building was probably the major defensive element of the medieval city. A defensive tower was mentioned in 990, proof of the monument's long existence. This castle, registered as a Historic Monument, is over a thousand years old. About ten years ago, a team discovered a fresco dating from the Renaissance in the chapel of the castle.
