LES HALLES DE POUSSAN
The halles were inspired by the halles in Sète built in 1889 in the style of the Baltard pavilion
In the middle of the XlXth century, the fashion of the metallic works arrives in France. In 1905, these halls were built on the Place du Marché, inspired by the halls of Sète built in 1889 in the style of the Baltard pavilion. The architecture is based on an iron girder frame resting on cast iron pillars and supporting a zinc roof. The openwork walls rest on brick walls. Every week, a small local market is held inside. Today, the more than one hundred year old building is in need of renovation.
