BOLLÉE WIND TURBINE
A wind turbine to supply water to the château winery from the late century, held in place by a network of steel rods.
For a feast for the eyes, climb the hill overlooking the Domaine de Roueïre. At the very top stands the wind turbine named after its builder, engineer Auguste Bollée. Listed as a Historic Monument, it was used to supply drinking water to the neighboring château in the late 19th century. At a height of 12 meters, it consists of a cast-iron rod that serves as the core of a cast-iron spiral staircase. The whole is held in place by a network of steel rods, anchored to the ground all around the machine.
