Temple allowing to admire a very beautiful statue of Buddha of 7 meters high

Founded in 1991 by Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, who died in August 2019, Lerab Ling is one of the leading centres for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in Europe. Located on the Escandorgue Plateau, this lively place is home to a large community of monastic and lay members. Its vocation is to translate the key values of the ancient wisdom tradition of Tibet into the various fields of contemporary life. The Lerab Ling Temple is one of the most authentic traditional Tibetan temples in Europe. It is inspired in all its aspects by the best examples of Tibetan monastery architecture in the Himalayas. There is a beautiful 7-metre high statue of Buddha. Since its opening in 1992, Lerab Ling has been visited by many great masters of the Buddhist tradition, and in particular by the Dalai Lama on two occasions, in 2000 and 2008. Overnight retreats, meetings and meditation classes are held here throughout the year.

Parking gratuit . Toilettes. Petite boutique des souvenirs. A développer.
