EMMAÜS MONTPELLIER
This set of secular associations of solidarity created by Abbot Peter in 1949 and present today in 36 countries, struggles daily against poverty and exclusion by various means following the context and country. The majority of the centres Emmaus have an economic activity, based on the recovery of objects and furniture received in donations, their rehabilitation and resale, but not exclusively. In some regions, the Emmaus groups also operate agriculture (in Africa and Asia) and micro-credit (in Lebanon and Bangladesh in particular). People in the Emmaus community are called the companions. Founded in Montpellier in 1973, Emmaus now has 70 companions, volunteers and employees. Do not hesitate to go there, enjoy some nice discoveries at low prices and, above all, do a good job! Also think about visiting their new website and taking a tour at the Musicshop shop that opened its doors last year: There are musical instruments (guitars, batteries, keyboards, wind instruments…) as well as amps and numerous musical accessories.
