DOMAINE HENRY
The Henrys have been winemakers from father to son for more than a decade. It was by consulting the archives that they decided to relocate to the terroir of St-Georges-d'Orques, after discovering that this vintage produced, since the Middle Ages, wines of at least equal to that of Burgundy and were appreciated even in Russia and in Scandinavian countries. Here, red wines are rich and powerful with very beautiful aromas of red fruits (black-currant, raspberry, and red-currant) and pulpy core fruits (cherry, sour cherry, and prune). Laurence and François Henry have tried hard to honour this exceptional terroir. Continuing a fine range of red, rosé and white wines, their Mailhol cuvee which is made entirely from very old grape varieties that are now forgotten such as black aspiran, morastel, illade, gives a remarkably fruity and gourmet wine. There, you should also taste the magnificent passerille red which is a rich wine of great gastronomy sold in a bottle of 50 cl.
