HOUSE CALLED "EMIGRANT'S HOUSE"
This house is characteristic of the southern architecture of the century
The house was built in the seventeenth century by the d'Astanières, the bailles of the village (category of royal judges in the Languedoc). It is characteristic of the southern architecture of the seventeenth century. On the ground floor, the entrance door concentrates all the decoration of the facade. The first floor is lit by mullioned windows resting on a moulded cord. Bastard windows give daylight to the pebbles. Having emigrated to the Kingdom of Naples during the Terror, their house was given the name "House of the Emigrants". After being sold as a national asset and bought by different owners in the 19th century, the house fell into ruin in the middle of the 20th century. It will be reunited again in the 1960s by a single owner. Finally, a new owner took over the important work campaign in 2008. Today, the building has regained some of its former glory.
