THE TOWER
At the place La Tourre, north of the village, on the edge of a plateau overlooking the slope that descends towards the Cours du Maro, bordering the communes of Saint-Privat and Saint-Jean, is an enigmatic construction attributed by local tradition to the kingdom of Wisigoth. It is a rectangular building of 7 m out of 12, whose walls are mounted with irregular blocks, often of very large size. There is only the first blind level of this construction, which had to be much higher. Surveys carried out on the periphery have not delivered anything, so the chronology of the building remains indefinite. Nevertheless, a flat hypothesis: it could be a tolls post of the xie-XII centuries, established by a man of the near villa de La Valette, along a route leading from Usclas to Saint-Privat.
